About Mason

Mason Young

Mason is a recent high-ATAR graduate who continues to study full-time, tutoring alongside a university degree rather than years removed from one. The QCE and VCE syllabuses have both been completed firsthand, so wherever a student is studying, the content, assessment structure and marking criteria taught reflect genuine, current experience rather than a generic approximation.

This experience extends well beyond a single session. It encompasses years spent guiding younger siblings through their schoolwork, together with ongoing one-on-one online tutoring; several students have been guided continuously from Year 7 through their VCE and QCE studies. This is what a complete course of tutoring requires, not merely an isolated lesson.

Having grown up in a family of academics and teachers, Mason has seen firsthand how differently students learn: an explanation that succeeds for one may leave another more confused. Achieving the right approach requires a style tailored to the individual rather than a fixed formula, and that is the standard brought to every session.

Frequently asked questions

What platform are sessions held on?

Google Meet. A link is sent ahead of each session, and no software installation is required.

Can rescheduling or cancellations be accommodated?

Yes. As much notice as possible is appreciated so the time can be offered to another family, but occasional changes are a normal part of a school term.

Is there a minimum commitment?

No. Most families settle into a regular weekly session, but there's no lock-in contract and sessions can be adjusted around exams, holidays, or workload.

How are materials shared?

Any resources used in a session, worked examples, practice questions, and progress notes, are shared by email so they're easy to revisit.

How does payment work?

Sessions are invoiced weekly via direct bank transfer, payable within a few days of the invoice.

Can one session cover more than one subject?

Yes, particularly for younger students. This is best discussed on the initial call so a session can be structured around what's most useful.

Is there a discount for siblings?

Yes, a 10% discount applies to a second sibling enrolled at the same time.
